FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) When should I arrive / depart ? We would like you to arrive 1 day before 21st June. Your room will be available from the 20th. June. Students who wish to arrive a day or two earlier due to international connections, please advice at least 30 days in advance. Check out date from the hotel is on July 10th, at 12 noon. If you wish to stay a day or so later, please advice. Extra nights at the hotel will be charged. (See prices page) Which airport do I fly to? The international airport you should fly to Cyprus is Larnaca (LCA) How do I get to the hotel from the airport and back? There are taxis available from the airport to all over Cyprus, we can arrange for groups of 4 students arriving at the same time to share a taxi. You must send us your arrival / departure information so we can arrange this for you. Do I need any kind of insurance? When you buy your airline ticket, we recommend that you pay for insurance cover in case of lost luggage or any occurrence during the flight. A good travel insurance will also cover you if for some unexpected reason, you need to leave the workshop and want a refund. All our students are required to have a medical insurance that is valid for Europe. You must fill in the appropriate place in the registration form under insurance. If you do not have a medical insurance for Europe, you can obtain it on arrival at the workshop. the price is 35 Euro for one month medical insurance. Please note that this insurance is for medical purposes only, not for lost luggage or airline tickets. Where are the rooms? All students will be staying at the EPISKOPIA Resort & Sports Hotel in Limassol. You will find the address and pictures of the rooms on our accommodations page Where do I get my breakfast? Your accommodations include breakfast. Where do I buy food and sundries? There is a small Mini-market and kiosk that students can shop from, but bigger are not close by. We can make arrangements for students to go shopping, which could be on your day off or we will drive some students at certain times to go shopping.
Do you have a meal-plan? We do not have a meal plan. but the hotel has a restaurant, and the students can have their meals at the restaurant or get groceries in the village. How do I get to the studio? The studios are located in the local school, which is across the road from the hotel. Where do I do my laundry? There are no washing machines at the hotel, but they have a laundry service. Leotards and small items can be washed by hand in the sinks. Do I need to bring linen? No, do not bring any lined nor blankets. You will be provided with towels and bedding. However, for dancers, we recommend that you bring 2 extra towels. How many students are in a room? We have rooms of 4 students sharing (All rooms have showers and WC). If you would like a single room you must pay the supplement price and let us know in advance so we can reserve for you the room. What about security and accommodation rules? EDAS will not be responsible for any valuables left in the rooms. Passports and money can be locked in the office safe. Please contact the administrator on arrival to place those items in the safe. There is absolutely no smoking and no alcohol in the hotel or school. We ask you to respect the property as you do with your own. Is there a dress code for the workshop? We respect the traditional ballet dress code, try to look like a professional, mature ballet dancer. There is no dress code for the Music and Vocal workshop, but we ask you to bring a black suit and white shirt for the concert. Remember it is summer in Cyprus, around 30 deg. Celius. How do I call my parents/friends in America or other countries? You can buy a calling card from the Kiosk or make sure that your cell phone works in Europe. Your family can call you at the hotel. What if my parents want to get in touch with me? Nili Glaser, the workshop director will take messages in case of an emergency or very important issues at the following number: (+357) 99 519 034 When can we do our shopping, banking etc...? From previous experience we have decided to give the students one free day on Saturdays, to do their shopping, and anything else they wish to do on their free day. there will be also sightseeing excursions on those days which you can join. Sunday will be a regular working day, mostly for rehearsals. Is there Internet connection in the rooms? You are welcome to bring your laptop. The hotel has wireless connection. The school also has a computer room with internet connection. Do you have a payment plan? Yes we do have an installment plan. please contact Nili, the Adm. Director for details. Please note that if you want to pay by installment, you have to start the latest by March, and there will be an charge of 3.5% for each Credit cards payment. PayPal online will automatically charge additional 3.5%. What else should I bring with me to the workshop? PACKING & CLOTHING: From previous experience, please do not pack your things in one gigantic suitcase, better divide it to 2 medium size suitcases, all carriers allow 2 pieces of luggage plus hand luggage! It will also be easier for you to carry around. For dance classes and performances, please bring enough leotards, (at least 2 black) leg warmers, one long flowing skirt, any color will do. character shoes, Boys, please bring at least one pair of long black pants (Jazz pants). Also, we recommend that you remember to bring 2 extra towels. Don't forget all necessary medication, (like your usual headache tablets, muscle relaxer, band aids etc, ) as well as medical insurance information. IMPORTANT: If you are on any prescribed medication, please notify the office, and bring enough supply with you as you might not be able to buy medicine in Cyprus with a doctor's prescription from another country.
